Inspiring Artist, Lynda Chambers

Have you ever met someone for the first time and yet somehow felt like you’ve known them all your life?  That’s how I felt the first day I met artist, Lynda Chambers.   It didn’t feel at all like an introduction. It felt like a reunion.  We embraced in a warm hug the moment we saw each other.  Since that day her full on CREATIVE LIFE has inspired me in so many ways.  Her latest adventure, the opening of Chambers Arts!, is definitely up there on that list of inspirations. If you are in the Cary, NC area be sure to stop by on Friday July 29th for the GRAND OPENING!

I am so pleased to be able to introduce you to one of my personal inspirational gurus and my loving friend, Lynda Chambers.

Hi Lynda, would you please introduce yourself to my lovely readers?

Well, at some point we become totally insane – lunatics – or we are graced to become mystics.  Once on this path it’s easy to be okay with our innate lunacy, being human becomes divine and vice versa.  I can honestly say these days, I show up wholeheartedly — full souled and ready for, well — whatever.  I answer the call and hope it is serving something greater than my own mind playing with itself.

I haven’t written a song in weeks, but until 2 years ago I had never written a melody.  I haven’t painted a picture in months, but until 8 years ago I hadn’t painted much except my bedroom walls.  I haven’t cried much in the last months but I have given birth to a new venture — Chambers Arts! An Interactive Arts Studio.

We’re all about inspiring creative life.  Six resident artists paint there.  Other artists of all sorts — musicians, writers, food and wine lovers pause and play there. Whatever sparks inspiration and joy in expression, we will try and help you realize it here.

Today, I played with a new menu while studio artists painted.  Laughter and compassion and high test aromatic Larry’s Beans Best-Cup-in-Cary coffee coursed through my veins.  I love this place!  I hope you will as well.  I promise new paintings, songs, recipes, inspirations soon.  Come play!

Our grand opening is July 29, 6-9 pm Tracy Thornton, Steel Drummer, will be here.

For me art is…

Mystical.   A part of my experience that in no other way seems to be able to be expressed and yet it resonates with a lot of other people as well on some other level.  Art is healing and loving and playful and well, just plain fun!

What are you currently working on?

Poetry.  Songs.  This new venture, Chambers Arts!.  A website that is driving me nuts.   Simple expressions.  Roosters.  Connecting others.  Laughter. Also ready to begin a continuation of the series, The Gifts, large canvases of mixed media with gold underlaid with poetry, linen, paints, pastels, threads. The first body of works travelled to Miami, Toronto, Philly for International Shows  and won an award at the Exposed Exhibition in Norfolk.

Who has inspired you?

  • The Artist’s Way, Julia Cameron- changed my life.
  • Illuminata, A Return to Prayer, Marianne Williamson
  • My daughter Matti – so full of life so unafraid of color and line.
  • Do NOT miss this book — Anthony DeMello The Way To Love, all about love, letting go — non-attachment.

What is your favorite inspirational quote?

“Come in.  What are you waiting for?  There’s beauty in the breakdown.”  Frou Frou

Are there any tips to living a creative life that you’d like to share?

Balance.  Eat right.  Exercise hard. Connect with other artists.  Walk barefoot in nature.  Indulge in enjoyment of all things art and the opposite.  Be still. Watch a candle burn and follow the smoke.  But most of all — show up and be the vessel.

Where can people find you and your work?
