It's Never too Soon…

What are your dreams? To travel? Perhaps take a cross-country trip or visit the castles in Europe? To learn a new skill? Would you like to paint, dance or play the guitar? Are you dreaming about opening your own business maybe a bakery or an antique store?

Are you waiting? Are you putting your dreams on hold for tomorrow?

What are you waiting for; retirement, that bonus check, a rainy day, college graduation, your kids to move out of the house, Divine Guidance?

While sitting at a coffee shop this morning I overheard a conversation that made me wonder, “Why are we all waiting to live our dreams?”

These words, spoken by an elderly woman, almost brought me to tears, “When Hank retired we hit the road! We traveled just like he had always dreamed of doing. He died one year later…

He waited all his life for his retirement, even put in extra years so we’d have more money. All that saving up and we only had one year.”

Oh Jeniffer, this is all so true! As I get older (!) I realise that I don’t have all the time in the world to procrastinate and that the time for living is now. I’m lucky in that, apart from one major glitch some years ago and the other usual ups and downs, I have had a happy life and am happy now.

But there are lots of things I’d like to do and my biggest wish is to start living in the present. Yoga, art journalling and mindfulness are three recent biggies for me and I just know that there must be a reason why they have all come together at the same time. 21 Secrets was very timely and has strengthened all three.

I would like to live a mindful life, not fretting about the past or stressing about the future but living every moment, right now. It is not easy and I have a long way to go but I know I’m headed in the right direction.

We do not know how long we have – a colleague of mine has just found out she has cancer – She has immediately left her job so she can make the most of the time she is feeling well. We should make the most of every minute and, as you say – just do the things we want to do. DO THEM DO THEM DO THEM!! My heart goes out to my colleague but I know she will FIGHT it.

I would like every moment of my life to be a dream come true. I wish the same for those I love, my family, friends, acquaintances .. and those I do not even know. And right now I am here in the moment talking to you – Jeniffer I bless the day I met you.

Awww – You have certainly hit a cord – I feel all emotional and teary in a quivery, wavery, smiley sort of way :{{)))
