Emergence

One of the things I love about painting is seeing it unfold from inspiration to final expression. There are often many magical moments that happen in the flow of brush to canvas. Equally there are often experiences of oops, that’s not right. Patience and trusting the process are skills I have learned to hone along the way.

These skills also apply to our everyday lives. Life is full of beauty, joy and unexpected magic as well as muddy moments, pain and sorrow. Being able to be present with what is while holding the vision of what is to come are true gifts of the spirit.

Looking at this painting now, I realize it is very loosely based on my original experience. Somehow it holds more of a fairytale vibe than when I was walking the country road in France. It is not what I set out to paint, but I love what emerged.
