Yesterday was quite the busy day, as are most days. You see, my home has become an amazing place. It is host to train stations, boat docks, space shuttles and castles. I sped most of my days traveling in the imagination of a two year old. Yesterday proved to be an extra magical day. We traveled travel by train to the beach where we swam and made sand castles. Then hopped into a space shuttle, ate lunch on Mars, rescued a friendly monster and returned home just in time for a short nap.
To be honest I really don’t know how I manage to fit anything else into my life (other than much needed sleep.) Somehow though, I find myself propelled forward by a creative energy that can not be stopped or slowed down by any force… even the mighty powers of a two year old. I am busy, busy, buys and LOVING every moment of it!!!
I just wanted to tell you what I’ve been up to in the studio. I’m currently teaching the “Wishes and Dreams Workshop.” There is an amazing group of women working through this with me. We are in week three already. Dining room tables have become temporary studios (to a few husbands’ dismay) as I ask them to dig DEEP an uncover their TRUE SELVES. What an incredible process this has been for everyone involved! A few new ideas are springing forth for future workshops as a result of this one. Keep your eyes open for those!
On top of that, something I am incredibly EXCITED about is 21 SECRETS. 21 SECRETS is being put together by Connie Hozvicka of Dirty Footprints Studios. If you haven’t read my post on this the other day be sure to check it out here. This is going to be an AMAZING Art Journal workshop. It is taught by 21 artists and you will have access to all 21 classes. That’s 21 classes! I am so grateful to be one of the artists participating in this and to be able to bring this to you as well. Registration begins in March so keep your eyes open. I will post more informatin as we get closer.
The third thing that has been keeping me busy is the fall artist retreat. I know it seems like it is a long way away , but trust me it is going to be here before we know it and it is going to be INCREDIBLE. The Bend of Ivy Lodge is just like a dream. It was beautiful and uplifting for me being there just to visit the lodge for a couple of hours. I can only imagine the energy of the place when the entire center is filled with creative beings. We are going to have workshops, go hiking, explore the labyrinth there, have time for personal reflection as well as work together in group activities. Have I mentioned the FOOD? I am so thrilled to have been paired up with Dava Melton of Blessed 2 Cook Catering. All of our meals will be handmade from fresh, local & organic food.
Be sure to check out the “Reawaken Creative Dreams“ retreat information page on the website. There is tons of informatin on this workshop. It is not full yet, so I hope you can come and join me!
When I’m not riding space shuttles, teaching classes or planning an art retreat, I’ve been writing and painting. Writing seems to be calling to me the most these days. I am continuing to put together my first ever book! It’s a very interesting and totally foreign process to me, but I am drawn to it. I feel like I should just go with the flow and see where it takes me.
That’s it! Whew. See, I told you I was busy. I am sorry if my posts are a bit more sporadic as I work in all of these things (while trying to maintain personal sanity.) Also please bare with me when I post ridiculously long entries like this one because I haven’t gotten on the computer for a few days. I am grateful for all of you who visit and are following my adventures!
By the way, Dan only has two days left at his current job. Next week we are celebrating by taking a family trip. The RV and open roads await!! And the adventure continues… Posts and pictures to follow.
If you have any questions about the retreat, 21 Secrets, or any other workshops that I am hosting feel free to contact me. E-mail is probably the best way to reach me, jhutchins@joyfulartsstudio.com. I hope to hear from you. Questions, comments and feedback of any sort are always welcome. However, if you want to know how I do it all, I honestly don’t know, so don’t bother asking 😎
Love and Blessings,
Jeniffer
